Corporate History

Motibhai Group owes its success to the sheer dint of hard work of our visionary founders - Motibhai Patel and his brothers, Prabhudas and Parshottam. Travelling halfway across the world from western India seeking his destiny in 1929, young Motibhai began life in Fiji as an employee with a leading grocery store of the time. Before long, he started his own little store on the banks of the Ba River in western Viti Levu. Soon, he needed trusted hands to strengthen the growth of his fledgling enterprise and invited his brothers to join him.

The Group today is led by the sons and grandsons of the three enterprising brothers. Groomed in their astute entrepreneurial abilities, their succeeding generation has successfully steered the Group in several new directions. The values of trust, commitment to quality and service and dedication to customer satisfaction inculcated by the founders continue to guide the Group in all its endeavours.
